Anthropic, an Amazon-backed AI startup, has launched a new subscription plan for its AI chatbot, Claude Enterprise plan, to provide organizations with improved capabilities for secure collaboration using internal knowledge.
The plan features a 500K context window, significantly expanding Claude’s ability to handle large datasets like sales transcripts, lengthy documents, and codebases. The company said, “When you combine expanded context windows with Projects and Artifacts, Claude becomes an end-to-end solution to help your team take any initiative from idea to high-quality work output”.
The service has been used by early customers like GitLab and another AI venture, Midjourney, for a variety of tasks such as brainstorming, writing code, and generating a variety of content for employees.
Deep, Function-Specific Guidance
Anthropic noted that employees can upload documents to Claude to help the product better understand an organization’s data and provide “deep, function-specific guidance”. However, the price of Claude Enterprise will vary depending on the company, how much it is used and the number of employees with access, according to CNBC.
Claude Enterprise is integrated with a native GitHub integration, currently in beta, allowing engineering teams to sync repositories and work alongside their codebases. In a blog post, the company said “GitHub is the first of the native integrations we are building to connect Claude to your most important data sources, enabling Claude to provide more relevant and insightful assistance. This feature is available in beta for early Enterprise plan users today. We plan to make it more broadly available later this year”.
The service will work in tandem with already-released Claude features, such as Artifacts, which functions as an “end-to-end solution” for turning an idea into a finished piece by putting content produced by the AI in a separate window and allowing for both minor tweaks and in-depth comments.
To secure sensitive data, the Claude Enterprise plan has essential administrative and security capabilities. These include upcoming features like audit logs and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) for automating user provisioning, as well as single sign-on (SSO) and role-based access with fine-grained permissioning.
Furthermore, Anthropic emphasizes that Claude, in order to protect client privacy, does not train on customer chats or content. Later in the year, the company aims to expand the availability of these enterprise features. With the recent release of Claude Artifacts to the public on iOS and Android, Anthropic has made it possible for anyone to create apps without writing a single line of code.
